Shanghai 7s 2009: Black and Whites Storm Shanghai. September 12th saw a cool grey dawn in Shanghai. For many this would be considered bleak, dreary weather. However, for a small group of intrepid sports enthusiasts, the day was perfect. Click here for the match report.

PRACTICE

RUGBY FOUR TIMES A WEEK

The Chengdu Rugby Club Practices Three times a week, with a fourth fitness only session on mondays. The Primary practice is on Saturday 12:30pm at the Huaxi Football Pitch. Monday night there is sprint training, Tuesday night 7pm, we have training at the 12MA 5-aside pitch, near Tongzilin Caarrfour and Thursday at 5:30pm we have touch at Sichuan University. SPEED TRAINING: MONDAY 6:15PM - Dark

Speed training has now been introduced into the training program. CRFC regular Ian Reinert has stepped up to run the sessions every monday night from 6:15PM at Sichuan University. The sessions take place on the regular Thursday night pitch (see map below), and generally run for about an hour.

This is a great way to improve your game as well as your overall fitness, everyone is welcome.

CONTACT TRAINING: TUESDAY 6:00PM - 7:00PM

Training has begun, and will run every Tuesday at the 12 MA Football Club 5 a side pitch. The pitch is located very close to Carrefour Tongzilin, and is undercover and well lit.

These Tuesday sessions are intended to improve everyone's fitness level for "CONTACT" rugby. Sessions will cost each player between 15 and 30 RMB (depending on numbers).

THURSDAY PRACTICE: 5:30 PM - Dark

Thursday Practice takes place at 5:30pm every week at Sichuan University. The pitch is located near the East Gate. Thursday night is touch rugby only, all are welcome. Cost is FREE.

SATURDAY PRACTICE: 12:30 PM - 2:30 PM

UPDATE: Saturday practice is currently at  Huaxi (North of 1st Ring Road on Ren Min Nan Lu). If you are unsure of the current Saturday practice location email us here for regular updates.

Saturday Practice  takes place at 12:30pm  every week at the Huaxi Field,. We play both Touch and Contact on saturdays. Cost is free for first timers, members and Chinese locals, or 30RMB for one off practice. If you are unsure of the location, team members generally meet at the Shamrock Bar on Ren Min Nan Lu at 12 PM prior to practice.
